Sky Watch Friday: Hawk

Blue skies today and crisp cold following a warm weekend and storms early in the week.
A hawk was hunting in the field beside and behind our house this afternoon. I cropped the photo so you could see the hawk in low flight in the second pic.

More photos of the hawk follow in an earlier post.

We have red wing hawks in North Idaho but have only seen a few Ospry and Eagles lately...just too much snow for moving food.

Great shots Jean! I've never seen a hawk hunting.

We have a hawk that lives near our house and he has rid our area of rodents and small animals for years. He's pretty tame, too, and will sit in a tree while I am in the yard.

I love to watch hawks and other birds of prey fly or glide around. They are so graceful!

I have not been successful yet at capturing a good picture of these birds in flight. All I ever get is a frame of pure sky. Congratulations. Thanks for sharing.
