Blue skies today and crisp cold following a warm weekend and storms early in the week. A hawk was hunting in the field beside and behind our house this afternoon. I cropped the photo so you could see the hawk in low flight in the second pic. More photos of the hawk follow in an earlier post.
We have a hawk that lives near our house and he has rid our area of rodents and small animals for years. He's pretty tame, too, and will sit in a tree while I am in the yard.
I have not been successful yet at capturing a good picture of these birds in flight. All I ever get is a frame of pure sky. Congratulations. Thanks for sharing.

We have red wing hawks in North Idaho but have only seen a few Ospry and Eagles lately...just too much snow for moving food.

I love to watch hawks and other birds of prey fly or glide around. They are so graceful!
